Curriculum

The Al-Ummah Curriculum is designed and developed with the needs of today’s youth in mind - aiming to support holistic growth and self-reflection. Majalis

Majlis sessions are designed to cover a variety of topics that encourage participants to explore their relationship with their faith. These sessions are rooted in the practice of intelligent questioning, and offer a platform to engage with questions of faith and the world in a way that is relevant to participant’s lives. It also allows them a space to think about how their own lives can be of larger human quests for knowledge, love, progress, stewardship of the earth.

Workshops & Skill Building

Workshops and skills-building sessions create a space of learning and growth in a safe environment. Skill-building sessions focus on building the participants' self-awareness, self-control, and interpersonal skills, while workshops are performance-based learning opportunities to build confidence through artistic, creative, and devotional outlets.

Athletics

All participants take part in a variety of athletic activities that promote healthy living. These activities include life sports, such as tennis, yoga and swimming, and team sports such as basketball and volleyball. Participants are exposed to both types of sports and a variety of other physical activities that encourage them to be active and healthy regardless of their abilities or preferences. We provide coaching and guidance to participants of all skill levels.

Evening Program

This is a time when the entire Ummah comes together at the end of each day for planned activities. During evening programs, participants will take part in activities such as game night, reflective discussions, small-group activities, and arts and cultural initiatives. The focus of this time is community building and forming lifelong memories that will long outlast the participants' time at Al Ummah.
